Sir MacFarlane Burnet, F.R.S., O.M.,
Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research,
Royal Melbourne Hospital,
PARKVILLE - VIC. ____ 3052.
Dear Sir MacFarlane Burnet,
I have passed on to Prof. Wyburn-Mason your letter of the 10th October, with a suggestion that
perhaps he communicate with you further.
As I am not au fait with the Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, is the book of Dr.
W-M’s best suited there, or should it be sent to the Professor of Medicine at the Melbourne Univer-
sity who has lecturers as well as students seeking this type of information?
I leave you or someone to advise me. The books are not cheap:
I want them in the hands of someone who is going to use it and do something about it, even if only to
comment on it, constructively or otherwise.
Perhaps Prof. W-M’s theories are not correct in your opinion, but everybody in Australia so far
who has been taking Tinidazole in 2 gm. doses is experiencing marked effects to their arthritis,
which is more than has ever happened before.
As Prof. Joske (Professor of Medicine at the W.A. University) says, there are two issues in question -
one is the new medicine, the second is Prof. W-M’s theories.
I would be pleased to hear from you your decision on the book.
Sincerely,
Terry Crommelin
